About the Design

This piece celebrates the sixth of the Ogham Trees, Hawthorn or Huathe.  The Hawthorn is native to the British Isles and is often found growing in hedgerows or on hillsides. Hawthorn is known as the fairy tree and a portal tree to other realms. As it flowers in the the Spring, it is also known as May and is associated with love, joy, handfastings and marriage.
