Wooden hand-finished coaster - The Crone

This is a hand crafted item made to order.

Each piece measures 10 x 10 cm. Each coaster is unique and as the designs are printed onto a natural product, some images show the grain and texture of the wood beneath giving a distressed vintage feel to them. This is part of their charm. Each coaster is sealed with a heat proof varnish ready for your hot drinks or cold beverages.

About the Design -

The original painting was inspired by the triple goddesses, maiden , mother and crone. I wanted to paint a piece that celebrated the sacred feminine in later years. This piece is called 'Grace' and she exudes a sense of calm and a detachment from drama. The little wren is a song bird , seldom seen but still sings it heart out even in the middle of winter. It reminds us to follow our dreams. Hellebores have been associated with the Goddess 'Hecate' often linked to Crone energy. Ivy is for fidelity and tenacity, Eucalyptus can be used as a smudge to cleanse negativity and heather is associated with luck.
