This piece was inspired by a visit to Glastonbury Tor, Somerset. It was painted during a full moon at the Autumn Equinox and features a view of the Tor at Dawn with migrating geese. Traditionally, windows and views out of windows have various spiritual meanings. For me, the window represents opportunities, fresh starts, new beginnings and a new perspective on life. Here the window and the building are old and decaying yet they are still beautiful. They represent your old life and trials. The window is also located to the left of the piece with more space to the right which is a focus on the future yet to pass. Ivy is seen by some as sacred representing survival, determination but also protection and safety.
