This original painting is part of a new series of Acrylic Tree paintings and I've loved painting this piece inspired by a walk among the pink summer heather up on Stanton Moor in Derbyshire. It is a site of a vast ancient bronze age settlement littered with stone circles, birch woods and sacred tumuli.  The silver birch is one of my favourite trees, known as the 'Lady of the Wood' and the first of the Celtic/Ogham sacred trees. She is linked to protection and new beginnings. Deer are associated with pride and leadership but also kindness to self. The white deer or White Hart is rare and in mythology, It is often linked to prophecy. 

Each painting comes with a signed dated certificate of authenticity.
