The Beech Tree is sometimes known as the 'Queen of the Forest' or the 'Mother of the Woods'. She is the partner to the Oak King.
She is linked with generosity of spirit, wisdom and prosperity. Traditionally, wearing Beech wood was considered to be lucky as in magical terms Beech wood is protective and nurturing. Beech wood was once used to write on so the Beech is linked to the written word and books. Indeed the German word for BEECH is Buche and the word for BOOK is Das Buch.
The mammal and birds chosen inhabit Beech trees. I am lucky enough to have a pair of Jays regularly visit my garden. Traditionally, Jays have been associated with adapting to new situations and encourage us to be bold and seize new opportunities and adventures. The little nuthatch also has encouragement as it's meaning and is linked to leadership and gives you the strength to face the masses. Finally the Dormouse, hidden in the leaf crown, Is linked to gentleness but also brings in abundance.
